Nigeria Demands End to Killings of Nigerians, Other Africans in South Africa

The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued a strong warning to the South African authorities, demanding an immediate end to the killings and attacks targeting Africans, particularly Nigerian citizens, residing in the country.

The Nigerian government stressed that the continued loss of lives and recurring incidents of violence against foreign nationals are unacceptable, urging the South African government to take decisive action to protect all residents regardless of their nationality.

The call comes amid renewed concerns over reports of attacks on Nigerians and other African nationals in parts of South Africa, with Abuja emphasizing the need for justice, accountability, and stronger measures to prevent further violence.

Nigerian authorities reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the lives and welfare of citizens abroad while calling for strengthened diplomatic cooperation to address xenophobic violence and ensure the safety of all African nationals living in South Africa.
