VeryDarkMan Warns Organisers Against Tyla's Planned Lagos Concert

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has issued a strong warning to the organisers of South African singer Tyla's proposed concert in Lagos.

In a statement shared on his social media platforms, VDM declared that the event "will not happen," threatening to mobilise his supporters, known as the "Ratels," to disrupt the concert if organisers proceed with the plan.

«"That Tyla show will NOT happen. To the organizers; if you try us, we will come there, disrupt it and face whatever consequences. Ratels have the numbers. If Nigerians want to see an entertainer in short skirts, we already have Ayra Starr."»

The activist's comments come amid renewed debates over xenophobic attacks against Nigerians living in South Africa. VDM has repeatedly argued that Nigerian entertainers and citizens should not support South African entertainment events until stronger action is taken to address violence and discrimination against Nigerians abroad.

As of the time of reporting, Tyla and the concert organisers have not publicly responded to VDM's remarks.

The statement has generated mixed reactions on social media. While some users support his stance as a protest against xenophobia, others have criticised the threat to disrupt a public event, arguing that peaceful demonstrations are a more appropriate way to express concerns.

The situation continues to attract widespread attention as Nigerians await an official response from the organisers and Tyla's management.
