Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has alleged that his friendship with Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy came to an end after false accusations claimed he had an affair with Burna Boy's girlfriend during the singer's visit to Ghana.

Speaking during a recent podcast interview, Shatta Wale reflected on the origins of their friendship, revealing that Burna Boy reached out to him before travelling to Ghana. He said he welcomed the Grammy-winning singer, provided accommodation and transportation, and ensured he had a comfortable stay throughout his visit.

According to Shatta Wale, the relationship later deteriorated after several former members of his team allegedly spread false information about him following their dismissal. He claimed the individuals falsely accused him of having a romantic relationship with Burna Boy's girlfriend, an allegation he firmly denied.

The Ghanaian musician said the rumour ultimately damaged his relationship with Burna Boy, adding that the Nigerian singer never approached him to verify the claims before communication between them ceased.

Shatta Wale expressed disappointment over how the situation unfolded but maintained that he holds no resentment towards Burna Boy. He reiterated that the allegation was entirely false and suggested that misinformation played a significant role in the breakdown of their friendship.

As of the time of publication, Burna Boy has not publicly responded to Shatta Wale's allegations.

The revelation has generated widespread discussion on social media, with fans revisiting the long-speculated rift between the two award-winning artistes and debating the impact of rumours on personal and professional relationships.
