Plateau Police Arrest Three Over Death of 25-Year-Old Model Accused of Stealing iPhone

The Plateau State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the tragic death of 25-year-old model, Ibrahim Mbaya, who reportedly died after being accused of stealing an iPhone.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred after Mbaya was allegedly confronted over the missing device. The confrontation reportedly escalated, leading to circumstances that resulted in his death. The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians calling for justice and urging authorities to ensure those responsible are held accountable.

Confirming the development, the Plateau State Police Command said three individuals have been taken into custody as investigations continue. Police authorities assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Mbaya's death and establish the roles played by each suspect.

The Command also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands, stressing that anyone found culpable would face prosecution in accordance with the law.

The death of the young model has reignited concerns over mob justice and the dangers of acting on unverified accusations. Human rights advocates have repeatedly warned against extrajudicial actions, emphasizing that every suspect is entitled to due process under the law.

As investigations continue, family members, friends, and supporters of Ibrahim Mbaya are demanding justice, while many Nigerians have expressed hope that the case will be handled transparently and fairly.

More official updates are expected from the Plateau State Police Command as the investigation progresses.

Genghis Khan: The Abandoned Boy Who Built the Largest Contiguous Empire in History He was born as Temüjin, the son of a tribal leader on the harsh Mongolian steppe. His father was murdered when he was still a child. His family was abandoned by their own people and left to survive in one of the world's most unforgiving environments. Years later, the same boy would become Genghis Khan, the ruler who united the Mongol tribes and created the largest contiguous land empire in history. His armies would sweep across Asia and into Europe. Cities would fall before them. Powerful kingdoms would disappear. Trade routes stretching between China, Central Asia and Europe would come under Mongol control. But the story of Genghis Khan did not begin with an empire. It began with a family struggling to survive. The boy who was left behind Temüjin was born around 1162, although the exact year remains uncertain. His father, Yesügei, was a tribal leader who had arranged a marriage for his young son w...

Queen Nzinga: The African Warrior Queen Who Fought the Portuguese for Decades Long before Angola became an independent country, powerful African kingdoms controlled large territories across the region. Among the most remarkable rulers of that era was a woman who became famous for her intelligence, diplomacy, military leadership and resistance to European expansion. Her name was Queen Nzinga Mbande, also known as Nzinga of Ndongo and Matamba. Born around 1583 in the kingdom of Ndongo, in present-day Angola, Nzinga lived during a period when Portuguese forces were expanding their influence in Central Africa. The Portuguese wanted land, political control and access to the Atlantic slave trade, while African rulers fought to protect their kingdoms and independence. Nzinga eventually became one of the most determined opponents of Portuguese expansion. She negotiated with Portuguese governors, formed military alliances, used diplomacy when it benefited her and fought when negotiations ...

Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko: How Their Marriage Crisis Turned Into a Family and Police Dispute The long-running controversy surrounding Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and Senator Ned Nwoko has taken several unexpected turns since their marital crisis became public in 2025. What initially appeared to be a private disagreement between a husband and wife later became a much bigger public story involving allegations of domestic violence, claims about substance use, custody of their children, police investigations, the arrest of Regina’s brother Sammy West, and an alleged $40,000 theft. Months later, the situation has continued to generate questions, especially after fresh reports about Regina’s relationship with members of her family and claims that Ned Nwoko has continued to support her despite their separation. Because many claims surrounding the family have circulated mainly through social media and blogs, it is important to separate what has been publicly reported from what re...

Joseph Kony: The Warlord Who Disappeared Into Africa’s Wilderness For years, the name Joseph Kony was associated with one of Africa’s most notorious rebel movements and some of the worst crimes committed against civilians during Uganda’s long-running insurgency. Then, in 2012, millions of people who had never heard of him suddenly learned his name. A short documentary called KONY 2012, produced by the nonprofit Invisible Children, turned Kony into a global symbol of warlordism almost overnight. The film attracted more than 100 million views in just six days and generated millions of pledges demanding his arrest. But the strange part of Kony’s story is what happened afterward. Despite an international manhunt, an International Criminal Court arrest warrant, American military involvement and a multimillion-dollar reward, Joseph Kony was never captured. More than two decades after the ICC issued its arrest warrant, he remains at large. From northern Uganda to the LRA Joseph Rao Kony...
